Happy Friday everyone!
What are your plans for the weekend?
Tomorrow the girls and I leave
for a little vacation in Edmonton.
We are visiting friends there.
We haven't seen them since Easter.
This a long overdue visit!

Whatever you get up to,
I hope you have a great weekend.
Stay safe, have fun!

Here are some links from

Happy Friday!: Links For Your Weekend

Helllllloooooo Friday!
What are you lovelies getting up to this weekend?
Parties? Pajamas? A bit of both?

Here's a public service announcement for you:
This Saturday is Halloween!
Are you dressing up and going out?
Please save the revealing costumes
and actually dress up like some clever and cool.
Be creative sisters.
How about Rosy the Riveter?
Wonder Woman or Holly Golightly?
Anyone of those is a better choice than
a sexy nurse/pirate/french maid.
Stay away from the misogynistic stereotypes
that women have tried to overcome for decades.

Tonight is girls night.
My dear friend has been in Haiti the last three weeks,
and really, do we need an excuse to get together?
There will be wine and girl talk, its going to be a great night.

This weekend Claire and I are going to the movie theatre
for a date.
Then we are going trick-or-treating!
Claire will be Princess Anna
(from Disney's Frozen, in case you've been hiding under a rock)
and Jane will be a pumpkin.
At Harvest Festival on Tuesday. Claire was Queen Elsa and Jane was Minnie Mouse.

Sunday we are going to relax and most likely watch a sport of some kind.
Football or baseball.
Have you been keeping up with the World Series?

Whatever you get up to, here are some fun links to kick off your weekend!

1. Hotline Bean, it had me in stitches!

2. Phil Collins is coming out of retirement!

3. Royals' pitcher Edinson Volquez pitched game after his father's death. So sad.

4. Red meat causes cancer. The internet is all abuzz about it. Have you read this? A different perspective.

5. I absolutely love this new commercial, Imagine the Possibilities, by Barbie Mattel.

6. Two new things that I got today that I think you should buy too! Victoria Secret bralette and the Smashbox contouring kit!

7. Unrealistic Stock Photos of Parenting With Hilarious, More Relatable Captions

8. Have you seen Brian Gordon's hilarious comics? He takes true-to-life scenarios living with kids and makes them hilarious.

9. Last week I wrote about the hilarity of Honest Toddler. This week I bring you Halloween With A Toddler Fact vs. Fiction, but the Honest Toddler

10. And finally - the time change happens this weekend. Which means nothing to me.

Have a great weekend!

Links For Your Weekend

What are your plans for the weekend?
We are laying low this evening.
Tomorrow I am spending the night in Vancouver
to celebrate a friends 29th birthday.
It will be my first night away from Jane.
I know I'll miss the girls,
but I am so excited for a good old fashioned slumber party!
On Sunday we will be reunited with our friends and their son
who have been living in the Philippines for the past two years.
The day can't come soon enough,
I am so excited to see them and have them meet Jane.

Reading bed time stories to my daughter and her friend.

Here are some fun links from around the web to kick off your weekend:

1. We are in between the stage of toddlerhood right now, having a preschooler and a baby. However I know it won't be long before we are thrown into it once more. For now, I enjoyed laughing at the 50 Reasons Why You're Toddler Could Be Awake Right Now, but in the near future I will probably cry when I read these truths.

2. Did you read my essay on the Good Mother Project? It will be published again here at a later time.

3. Do you follow Honest Toddler? You can follow the Honest Toddler on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Laughs on the daily. This one made me think of my Mommy Mondays post this week!

4. This little girl was crushed when she found out that Adam Levine was married. The video is pretty cute!

5. These celebrities are made over into Disney characters. The results are pretty magical!

6. Recently I discovered Amy Poehler's Smart Girls and I am in love. I completely support what they are about.

7. Oh my goodness, this hits too close to home.

9. On Saturday Spencer and I went on a date. We cheered on the UBC Thunderbirds as they destroyed the UofA. Then we went for dinner at the Mackenzie Room. A new restaurant that opened this summer. The owners also just welcomed twins to the world! They are a power house couple, that is for sure. The food was amazing and the cocktails divine. Their menu changes daily and is written on a giant chalkboard on the wall.

10. Netflix has something amazing up their sleeve! Rumours have it that they are making a Netflix Original Season 8 of Gilmore Girls! It is no secret that I love this show, so naturally I am hoping it is true. They are also making House Fuller, an updated version of the childhood classic Full House. Good things are happening in television.

Whatever it is you get up to this weekend,
I hope that you are safe and have fun!

Mondays

After a weekend with Spencer home,
Claire and I like to spend Monday morning relaxing and slowly getting
back into routine.
We don't get out of our pajamas until we have to.
I think you'd be impressed with how much
can be accomplished while in pajamas!
Mondays we like to keep low key post weekend,
and Tuesdays are busy with my moms group.
I think its important for little ones
(and their mamas) to have at home days too.

Our little skeleton sporting her new pajamas.
I think every chiropractor's kid should have skeleton pajamas!

Part of this weekend I spent crafting.
Once in a while I dig out the supplies and make a big mess.
I have been working away on a few different projects with my crochet hook and yarn.

I also bought some felt and made Claire
her own Christmas tree that she can decorate,
and re-decorate to her hearts content!
(Thanks Pinterest for another inspiration!)

My last post I shared that we
went to Mt. Hood to play in the snow.
Sunday Claire had a runny nose and cough
(not again!)
so we decided not to go to church
since the nursery workers prefer not to spread those yucky germs.
Instead we had breakfast with friends.

What was your weekend like?
What are you Mondays spent doing?
Back to work?
Weekend recovery?
