Christmas Is On The Way

Last Sunday in church I chose two que cards. Each of them had a person's name, and contained their wishlist for Christmas. I was volunteering by purchasing all or some of the items on their wishlist. I was blown away by the simpliity and necessity of their lists. They were not caught up in the wants, but in the needs. Yes, some had simple pleasures, like one lady had soft chocolate. And that was it. Just chocolate. I thought "That is all you want for Christmas?" But maybe, jsut maybe, she already has everything she wants. The man I chose had a bar of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, gloves and a box of Dad's Chocolate Chip Cookies. Wow! It made me think about my Christmas wishlist. I could so easily put one together. It would be a lot longer then any of the ones I read on those que cards, and also would contain a lot of wordly goods that I want, not need. Although, I would probably describe them as "needs". WhenI think about what Christmas really means, I have everything I want and need. First of all, I am blessed with a wonderful husband, family and friends. Then to top it off I have all of my necessary needs met (acoording to Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs) and more! Christmas either brings out the worst in people, or puts things into perspective.

Christmas is a fun time of year to share. So I am going to share with you some of the things I love about the Christmas season.

Apple Cider - there is nothing like this warm, spicey drink on a cold night! It warms you from the inside out. Here is an easy and cheap way to make it!

1 carton of apple juice

cinnamon

nutmeg

a pinch of cloves

Heat apple juice in a pot and add spices. Bring to a boil, and serve! pop a cinnamon stick in it for some decoration!
