Peacock Lane

There is a laneway in Portland that goes all out for Christmas.

We've heard its actually in the homeowner's agreement

that when you purchase a house in Peacock Lane you must decorate your house in lights during the last two weeks of December. 

The first weekend it opens, the close down the road and pedestrians can walk along the street admiring the light displays.

Santa has made appearances here,

and you can buy hot cocoa from one of the homeowners.

We waited for the first day with no rain to go

(in Portland, you could be waiting a long time!)

So we settled with drizzle,

bundled up and went to look at the displays. They were spectacular.

 The hot cocoa shed was even decorated!
