Today I had that craving again!
To just hop on a plane and head to New York.
Manhatten for shopping,
the Hamptons for a little vacation during a vacation.
Eat some good food,
drink some good wine,
sight see,
walk,
tour.
How about a girls trip?!
Mom? Diane? Claire?
You in?
Okay!
Sometimes,
watching When Harry Met Sally will cure this craving.
For the time being.
Especially this part:
(ugh, I LOVE this part.
Can someone recite this to me?
We could act it out.
It would be almost as great as the real thing.
I'll even perm my hair for the part.)
Harry:I've been doing a lot of thinking, and the thing is, I love you.
Sally: What?
Harry: I love you.
Sally: How do you expect me to respond to this?
Harry: How about, 'You love me too'?
Sally: How about, 'I'm leaving.'
Harry: Doesn't what I've said mean anything to you?
Sally: I'm sorry Harry, I know it's New Year's Eve, I know you're feeling lonely, but you can't just show up here, tell me you love me and expect everything to be all right. It doesn't work that way.
Harry: Well how does it work?
Sally: I don't know, but not this way.
Harry: Well how about this way. I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love when you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts, I love that after I've spent the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to begin as soon as possible.
Sally: That's just like you,Harry, you make it impossible for me to hate you; and I really hate you, I really hate you.
Harry, you are such a winner.
Confession: I've never seen When Harry Met Sally. I can almost see the look on your face right now and I know what you're going to say and I promise I will :) And soon! If it doesn't cure your craving this time though may I suggest You've Got Mail if you haven't seen it. I hope you have and I think you probably have but I LOVE that movie and it's a classic "New York in the fall" movie. And I know you have a fond spot for Autumn like I do, too! Wish I could come bounce Claire while you fold a load of laundry <3
